5Excellent outdoor IP Camera!
By Russ Panneton
The TV-IP322P is an excellent webcam! The resolution isn't full HD but at 1280x1024 @ 15 FPS it is very good compared to the usual, grainy 640x480 cameras in this price range. Another reviewer complained about the "limited" field of view (FOV.) This camera has a 12mm lens which is PERFECT for imaging more distant scenes as I wanted but if you want a wide angle camera, look for another camera with a much shorter focal length lens. The choices for motion detection and event controlled video recording and JPG image transfer are excellent. My single nit to pick is with the FTP transfer feature. It works fine but one cannot control the file name of the generated still image; the image is always named following a date/time convention which means that over time you'll eventually end up with a folder with zillions of images. I wanted to overwrite a single file so I had one image, the most recent, to use as a current weather image. This now requires some scripting on my remote host. The IR range is excellent. The camera's construction is very sturdy. PoE works perfectly. Initial setup was easy using the camera's web interface; I have not installed the Trendnet s/w on a PC yet. I strongly recommend this camera due to its excellent image and construction quality and price/performance.

4One week in and so far....
By D. Francis
Received the camera last week and it came preinstalled with the latest firmware. It is packaged well, and on first impression it is quite robust. I set it up in my office initially to experiment with the software and to install the 8GB SD card I had for it. I couldn't find any instructions citing (of any) size limitations for installing a SD card, so I installed it and walking through the camera config software it recognized the SD card and seems to accept it with no problems. Then I installed the software on my Win7 64bit SSD system and started running into problems. The intended control PC is Win7 64 bit with 8GB Ram and a Samsung 200GB SSD, however the video storage depot for the streaming video I wanted to us is my Windows Home Server. The server has over 8TB's of storage, so I shouldn't ever have a problem there. My network is Gigabit with PoE so speed shouldn't be a problem. The software became buggy as soon as I pointed the storage location away from the machine controlling the software. I don't know if it has anything to do with the SSD speed of the Win7 PC, so I removed the software and reinstalled the latest version from online. Same problem. Called tech support and they wanted me to try the software on another computer - not really an option for me as the camera requires the software to be in operation 24/7 and I don't want yet another computer on all the time. So I installed the software on the Windows Home Server machine, and I was initially being told by their tech support that it wouldn't run on WHS, literally as I was installing it, and yet it works perfectly (so far). Mounted it outside under the eave and aimed it down the driveway. Now all I want to make the package complete is a different lens. The 12mm lens is great for looking into another neighbors yard if I wanted to be a snoop, but it doesn't do much for what I'm trying to keep an eye on in my yard. Yes, I can see the zombie hoardes coming 10 minutes before they arrive, but I can't see which way they go when they get here. Do I shoot them in frtont of the house or behind? I need a 3.2-4.6 mm lens to help me decide which way to go. Does anyone know where I can get one?

3Nice Camera....but!!!
By Guy E Block
Great picture and the setup software is easy to use but there is no varifocal or adjustment for distance. So if what you are wanting to monitor is 300' or more away from the camera location, this is the camera for you. The camera comes with a 12mm lens ............ period!
