I got this to record my pool it's doing fine after a month. I have it positioned about 35 feet away from a 24 foot round pool and we can see everything wellI like the zoom and focus they are easy to adjust good picture night and day

Nice and heavy! The video is clear, the zoom allows you to see what you want and its easy to install and set up. The night vision is good for the range that I am using it with, the only thing that I have noticed is the IR reflects off of the clear dome a bit.

Good for day time - Bad for night time

I purchased the pair of cameras to add to my existing cameras. During the day time they were perfect - like looking thru a window. At night time there were lines in the picture that were terible. I contacted the seller and was advised to check the power output and that it might be cheap cables and I replied to that message that the cables had been supplied as part of the purchase and I also asked how the sound was supposed to be connected since there were o instructed to go to another link where the information was explained. But I was instructed again to check the voltage at the end of the cables. the cameras, power supply, mic's and the cables were all supplied - why do I have to check the power suppy (even thou I did). I have purched several other camer's from Amazon and have never had any problems like this and yes I have had 100' cables before with no trouble. I am very dissapointed with this whole thing with Amazon. I have purchased one more camera and if I have any trouble with this one - I will go to another seller of camera's (one where you bid - you all know who that is).

Don't judge a camera by it's comparitive features!

I bought the unit based on it's description, thinking that the high number of LED lights, 48, would give it a better IR image at night than a unit with a lower number of LEDs. I also expected that the 540 TVL lines would give a sharper image! It is a LARGE device which is a lot more visible to intruders. That could be good or bad depending if you are looking for a visual deterrence or wanting stealth!I was wrong on both assumptions about the LED count and the TVL count making a unit perform better than a similar unit with a lower LED count and a lower TVL count. Another feature I thought would be of value was the manually adjustable focal length (adjusting from wide to narrow focus) and the manual focus (sharpness). These variable features really don't have an impact on the unit's performance.Save your money and get a better performing unit at less than half the cost here at Amazon. With a Mechanical IR-Cut filter switch, during the day this camera uses an IR-cut filter. IR light is filtered out so that it does not distort the colors of images as the human eye sees them. When the camera is in night (black and white) mode, built in IR illuminator active, the IR-cut filter is removed, allowing the camera detect infrared light reflect from the object.
