Great camera, software is just OK

I use this camera outside to monitor my driveway entrance. It's very clear (at 2MP) and handles the weather very well. The software is adequate (just) and I got it going quite easily. Where I don't like it is:a) the way it stores video on SD cards is kludgy. It can store (potentially) thousands of video clips triggered by some event, but you can only delete the clips one screenfull at a time (by checking each clip one at a time). For larger numbers this is a pain.b) At night it struggles to view number plates because the light saturatesc) the motion event sensor is not very reliable or accurate or triggers too late (e.g. a vehicle going past)d) This model isn't yet supported by any (non Toshiba) NVR manufacturers yet so you have to use it in a generic MJPEG mode, which does work, but is not as feature richWhiel that may sound very negative, I really like the camera. However, if the 2MP is not too critical, I'd maybe suggest getting this camera's smaller brother the IK-WB70, which seems to have at least some 3rd party NVR support.

Toshiba IK-WB80A great camera

The camera arrived ahead of time with no damage. Packaged well.The IK-W80A looks like a well built camera with a great mount. Toshiba tried to put every part you may need to mount it, with 2 different ways to waterproof the cables and a power supply.The quality looks great with a very good optical system. The instructions are written in understandable ENGLISH and not some translated english. The camera was adjustments for almost any conditions you could come accross. You almost need a degree in photography to make them all correctly. I had no real problem setting it up under Blue Iris with 3 streams of video in no time. I did not try out the motion detection, as BI does all of my motion detection.I would recomend this camera to my friends. I am sick of dealing with the Chinese made "junk" and jiberish instructions.Great camera

disappointing

I have been fiddling with this since I got it for our company. Motion detection doesn't work on it. One other reviewer said it was unreliable, I think he was being nice. When a mask is applied the actual area isn't even in the mask. I have to nudge it around to get the indicated area to frame the spot I want to monitor. Then I have to have the sensitivity so high it picks up all the changes in light the day may bring. If I decrease it it doesn't pick up anything. Right now I have the sensitivity at 96% and thepercentage of movement at 15%. I drove thru the mask with my van and it sent a email. I don't know if it sent it because of me driving thru it or not, the snapshots sent don't show the van.I can't recommend it.
