The Vi-20W is no ordinary Network Security Camera. The camera is in effect a powerful system all in a single unit. ---
The Vi-20W is designed for easy installation and operation, yet boasts features only supported in cameras costing twice as much.--- All access is through a web browser. No additional software required. Recording of both video and audio can be done on the camera using a standard MircoSD memory card or to an ftp server anywhere on your network. No expensive DVR or NVR hardware or software required. Advanced motion detection allows the camera to immediately alert you via email using the cameras built-in email server. The email can include an attached snapshot making it easy to determine what caused the motion. At the same time video and audio of the motion event can be uploaded to an ftp server or recorded on the camera. Connected to your business or home network using standard wired ethernet cables or wirelessly via WiFi, the camera can be accessed internally from any PC, Mac or Smartphone. External access to the camera can be done from anywhere in the world using any PC, Mac or Smartphone with an internet connection.
Up to 64 different users and passwords can be assigned allowing secure and flexible access to the camera.
At night or when the light level drops below a usable level the camera automatically switches over to night mode and turns on the 30 Infrared Led's. This allows the camera to see in total darkness without having to illuminate the area with additional lighting. V1-20W is Indoors and Vi-30W if for Outdoors

Exactly What I Was Looking For!

I tried several traditional Baby monitors but never could find exactly what I wanted - none of them worked quite like I wanted and all of them required me to carry a monitor from room to room with me. My husband suggested we try to find a simple wireless network camera so we ordered one last weekend and got it set up and working with ease. The instructions are simple - don't be afraid that you need to be a network genius! Just a few quick steps and you are up and running. I am amazed at how clear the images are and love just watching my baby sleep. It is especially cool to be able to monitor from my iPhone no matter where I am - I wish I could get one setup at our daycare center so that I could watch her on my computer while I am at work!I especially like the night mode - the picture is way better than I thought it would be and so nice to be able to grab the phone off my night table and see what is going on in there instead of having to get up (and risk waking a sleeping baby!)I give this camera two BIG thumbs up!
