The Foscam FI8602W features high quality video, remote internet viewing, motion detection, night-vision as well as a built in network video recording system. In addition, it is smartphone compatible (Iphone, Android & Blackberry) as well as viewable over the internet network using the standard Safari browser (no app necessary). The camera functions well as part of a home or office security system with remote internet monitoring ability.

Foscam F18602W

As always Amazon's fulfillment was exceptional. This camera is an improvement of the previous model (F18905W) in image quality. The night vision is outstanding and bright. Clearly illuminating my driveway and rear entryway at a distance of approx 50ft. The issue I had in the installation to a Windows 7 machine was caused by the user account security built into Windows 7. The install software is not certified and required disabling all security before installation could be accomplished. The NEW camera software for this H.264 camera is different and not very user friendly at this point - will require some learning as the documentation leaves much to be desired. At present I am unable to get this camera and my other 2 cameras (F18910W) to recognize each other on the camera software so logging onto one camera will allow me to see all 3 camera's. Again I think this MAY be due to the learning curve and setup. I just haven't gotten around to resolving this issue yet. The only other major complaint I would have is the mount is NOT as secure as I would have liked. It will not take much to have this mount slip and move the camera. Dollar for dollar this is an excellent choice and I would not hesitate to recommend Foscam to anyone looking to install security cameras. ( Which I have and 3 of my friends have purchased and installed Foscam cameras as a result).

Step backwards for Foscam

I own several Foscam camera's and have been very happy with them. They have taken a step backwards with this one. Image quality was great but the viewing angle was horrible. I would need 3 cameras to monitor the width of my driveway. This model is also not supported by most iphone apps, sensr.net which I use to upload my images to and to view it in the browser on an Iphone or iPad is awful. As others have said, the mounting bracket is also a joke. I have returned mine and will look for another model.

I bought this item 9-30-12, it is not for the novice, It is not plug and play, however if you research it you can get it to perform. The camera was great the first day then the frame rate started dropping and performance suffered. By the end of the first week picture was very poor. Then it failed to load and nothing I tried helped so I returned the camera. I replaced it with a Foscam F18601W so far so good, Frame rate around 30 Fps , good picture. Perhaps I just got a bad camera the first time.
